8U,10U,12U Softball Registration Deadline is coming up! (2/28)
WOW! Time sure flies! Registration for spring/summer fastpitch softball leagues opened over a month ago, and now we're just under two weeks left before the February 28th registration deadline! Starting March 1st and until Player Evaluations on March 11th, you will still be allowed to register, but you'll be subject to a $75 Late Fee.
We encourage you to register now, while it's fresh in your mind, and before you go into this weekend and the thought of registering passes.
Team Fees for 10U, 12U players start at $175. Team Structure, Fee Schedule and General Softball Info (here)
How do I know what team my daughter will be selected for?
Please make plans for your daughter to attend Player Evaluations (info) on March 11. How she scores during her evaluation is the biggest factor in team selection.
Does EP Fastpitch do anything to help prepare athletes for this evaluation?
You bet! Make plans for your daughter to attend our Annual Softball Clinics (info) on February 24 and March 3. We'll cover all the skills girls need to learn how to play softball, refresh fundamentals and mechanics, and warm up veteran players for the season.
Players interested in playing as pitchers and catchers, we've had free SUN evening clinics (info) running since mid-November with professional instructors at the EP High School, and TUE evening open gym time at My Home Turf for extra pitching time and space (see the main page at epfastpitch.com for more info).
The bulk of any softball information can be found on our website. Any details that need clarifying can be directed to EP Fastpitch (

Please join us on the evening of February 15th to hear our plans for the upcoming fastpitch softball season. We intend to discuss all the topics that matter most about all of our age groups, including updates to our fastpitch softball program, team structure, fees, and our schedule leading up to the start of the season.
If you have questions or comments you would like to have addressed for this meeting, you may submit them to:

You'll never know if your fastpitch softball daughter(s) grows up to play softball in high school; and with that in mind we're asking you to support the current high school softball team by dining at particular restuarants this winter to help raise funds for the team. A portion of the proceeds from that evening's sales will go towards the team's annual training trip in Florida in March. You'll appreciate these fundraising gestures when your daughter is on the high school team, for sure!
Here is a calendar of fund-raising ventures for the Eden Prairie High School Softball Team. Please bring a printout of the fier, or download it to your mobile device, and make sure the staff knows you're there to support the EPHS softball team. The events are:
TUE, January 9
CAFE ZUPAS , 5:00-9:00pm, Dine-In or Take Out
EPHS softball receives up 25% of the entire order!
EP Fastpitch is excited to offer another opportunity for pitchers looking for time and space to throw during the winter offseason. On Tuesday nights (starting January 2nd), EP Fastpitch will be hosting open pitching at My Home Turf in Eden Prairie from 6:00-7:00pm. There will not be an instructor present but there will be plenty of space to pitch. There is no cost to take advantage of this opportunity; you only need to bring someone to catch for you (parents- we recommend that you bring a 5-gallon bucket to sit on).
Hitting is SO important at all age groups, and here's why:
8U - There's no such thing as a walk (base on balls) at 8U. Players need to hit the ball to get on base or advance other runners. 8U Hitting Clinic costs $10 and is limited to 12 athletes.
10U - Right up at the top of the skills needed at 10U, are good pitching, good catching and quality hitting (even if there's a 5-run per inning limit). 10U Hitting Clinic costs $10 and is limited to 12 athletes.
12U - Pitching is more advanced at this age group, so you need good hitting skills to counter it. There won't be a 5-run per inning cap in tournaments or high school softball, so piling on the runs with good hitting is essential. 12U Hitting Clinic costs $20 and is limited to 24 athletes over 2 sessions (12 per session).
Details for our Offseason Hitting Clinic can be found on this webpage (link).
Naturally, we recognize that the two most important positions on any softball team are the pitchers and catchers; so we are providing offseason instruction for girls playing these positions. We believe that fastpitch pitchers and catchers are made in the offseason!
If you are interested in becoming a fastpitch pitcher or catcher, or becoming a better one, then the EPFPA Clinics and Open Gym will help you achieve your goals. Pitchers and catchers will be organized by age, experience and ability to allow for more focused instruction. All pitchers must provide someone to catch their pitches.Parent Tip: bring a 5-gallon bucket to sit on; your back and your knees will thank you!
"Advanced 10U" pitchers will have pitched for at least one 10U summer season. If you are unsure where your 10U daughter should train, please attend the 5:15 Clinic; when the instructor believes your daughter is ready, you will receive approval to train at the 6:00 Clinic. We reserve the right to move any 10U girls to a different Clinic as deemed appropriate to their skill level.
